october already!

Hi everyone

What a fast paced year it has been. It has been a couple of months since I have sent out a newsletter, ok, maybe three or four? ;) Flying!

Over that time there has been some great new clients starting out on their fitness journey's - always super when someone introduces such a positive step into their lives and we all get to witness their changes, both physical and inwardly as time passes...  I really AM in a most fortunate role where everyday I get to train and smile with so many wonderful people. Welcome to you all.

And over the past couple of weeks I have done re-measurements and fitness tests on most of you, gym and home clients, and there are some FANTASTIC results! I would just like to congratulate you all, and for the effort you put in week after week, not just with me, but in the gym, other classes, or outside running/walking too. Fantastic results merging alongside fantastic attitudes :) I continue to be inspired by you all, the tenacity that you bring not only to our sessions, but to all your training. Consistency. Always the key word. Our health is beyond what we physically look like and when we eat nutritionally, train regularly, rest sufficiently, and feel simply amazing, what could be a better reward!?! Train hard. Eat clean. Stay focused. Create health. Simple equation.

I have continued to write for the Guardian each week, with only one or two weeks where I have had to pull the pin when the pressure has been to much ;)  I try my best to cover issues that come up during the week when talking with others but if anyone has any questions they would like answered, or any thoughts to contribute, please feel free to email, ask and help me out with real content suggestions that others may be interested in :) Main goal is still to encourage inactive people, to be active. Life's too wonderful not to be! Then to continue to motivate or inspire, those that are. I get great feedback so hopefully that means, it reaches and makes an impact on the lives of some.
I would still love to share some success stories that some of you have, so if any of you are happy to contribute your thoughts on the role that exercise plays in your life, or the differences you feel within yourself - please let me know and I will send you a questionnaire. One by one we can reach others and help to create positive changes in their lives by motivating, encouraging and inspiring them - amongst us all there are certainly MANY inspirational stories. When people see others 'doing', enjoying, and being successful, it creates a contagious environment of "I can do that too".

A big thank you to Fitness Venue and all of you who sent me messages through facebook, and texts wishing me well during my ultra at the Glasshouse mountains in September. I was proud of finishing despite taking an hour longer than I had wanted / anticipated. I do find the night time running most difficult.  The desire to give in at 85kms when I finally 'hit the wall' was strong, but received a most timely text from Michelle, right before my phone died, saying to dedicate each kilometre left to a friend/client, to keep me going. Words that indeed, kept me moving forwards. As always an absolute blast, the pain when finishing just like childbirth, you forget ;D Being in those trails sure is something else! A thank you to all who I trained during that following week when walking was still difficult and your perseverance of my inability to demonstrate much of what i expected you to do! It increased and improved my explanation skills though

Congratulations to Nicola with a SUPERB race through the Great Whitsunday Walk, also in September. I headed there towards the end to greet her as she came through and didnt have to wait to long at all. AMAZING time and effort Nic - a wonderful focus through your training and staying on track with the goal. Incredibly proud of you and what you have achieved this year.

I have really missed our Sunday 'breakfasts', but the Weekend Warriors has been a fun change. We have just concluded a superb 10 week block, both in Cannonvale and Proserpine. The mud session was an absolute blast. For those that weren't able to attend check the piccies out at https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.504862096191943.118572.471012982910188&type=1&l=17d9ded2ff - we trained hard, believe it or not, amid the fun and laughter, and had a wonderful brekky and time together afterwards. Thanks Melissa for allowing us mudmonsters to invade your great property!
The new 8 week block has just begun and it was fantastic last weekend to have some new faces along joining us also, it was a great dynamic. (For those that were after weight/measurements to be done and haven't as yet please let me know and I will organise that. Not obligatory. )

For those that want to participate, we will once again have a mud session with some new challenges, this time as the finale though. REALLY looking forward to it.
Sessions are Saturdays at 6am in Prossie, and Sundays 7am (still plenty of spaces) meeting at the Cannonvale gym, before heading to the beach. Encourage your friends to join us. Everyone works to their own level so beginners are most welcome. Don't forget to bring a water bottle and towel. And thats all you need! Oh. And. Your energy and high spirit. :)

About a month ago I was asked if we could hold some 'indoor' sessions, of a similar nature (by a couple of people who don't like exercising outdoors but wanted something 'extra') With another enquiry on Sunday I am now starting two 8 week blocks, 'Indoor Warriors' :D
Thursday at 11.30am starting this Thursday 25th October.
And also on a Tuesday at 12.15pm starting next Tuesday, 30th October.
Like the weekends, we will combine the two groups at the end for a session together as well :) If interested let me know and put your name down - cost is $128 for each one for the 8 weeks - or $20 casual. Both will be held at the Prossy Fitness Venue. If you know anyone who would like to also join in please let them know - for indoor,  or for the outdoor warrior bootcamps - you/they do NOT need to be a  member of the gym. Numbers are limited as it comes under the Fitness Venue banner as small group training.

Michelle and I have continued to work together on the weekend fitness escapes. We had four journalists from afar (one from england!) attend a successful day a couple months ago where we held an outdoor session, had a scrumptious healthy lunch at Peppers followed by Donna then giving a lifestyle talk shortly after. Ending with a hike up honeyeater where we were rewarded with fantastic views on a remarkably gorgeous day. (some photos at https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.266548040113067.44158.203549313079607&type=1&l=784d2f03f5 ) For those that came along I hope you will agree it was a magnificent way to spend a day in the Whitsundays. A couple of the journalists will be writing some editorial for us that will go into Womens Health and Fitness, and Womens Health. Both Michelle and I appreciate the way everyone involved spent some time chatting with the journos and made them feel welcome here. it was a great testimony to both us and to the region and we were proud to have such a great group and day with everything running smoothly.
We hope in the New Year to hold one or two more of these 'days' as many who wanted to come along were unable to. In the meantime, the final 'whitsunday fitness weekend' for this year is only four weeks away at Hamilton Island. If you have anyone you think may be interested in this health retreat please let them know. We have three people so far, so need more to enable it to go ahead. A gorgeous and healthy weekend at Hammo - incredibly exciting!
I've spent some time updating the website www.whitsundayfitnessescape.com so send them to the link to check it out. If you can think of anyone who may be interested - ALL levels of fitness will be catered for as always - please help us spread the information around if you are able. Certainly appreciated. We can also be found on the queenslandholiday website.

So. See what happens when I don't update every month, I have a lot to say :) Thank you if you have stayed to the end! War and peace has nothing on me ;P
All of you have a SUPER November ahead. Seventy-two days till the end of the year. Eeeeeeeeeek eh! Cheers to a supercharged 72 days ahead for us all!

Stay smiling, stay healthy, Ann
