LTL single group sessions
![]() |
| Other session times available. Enquire today. |
The Lighten the Load program is a series of group workshops/training sessions that goes beyond a single session each week. It’s a positive, fun environment where YOU can feel excited and invigorated to improve your health, fitness and well being, long term. You will confidently learn how to achieve a successful transformation through healthy eating and movement. This is not ‘another’ diet; this is a unique opportunity to explore and modify lifestyle choices that will change YOU in a positive way.
Everyone participating will also be supplied with ‘homework’ - ideas to incorporate motivation and movement into every day!
All handouts etc used each week are provided to take home and refer back to as required.
Ongoing regular support to keep you on track EVERY day - both from myself and others in the group via our sessions and interchange of email, texts etc.
Participants MUST have a minimum of 20kilos to lose. The reason behind this is the support of others on a similar goal/journey – and specially for those who could possibly feel intimidated or concerned to ‘begin’.
If you head to the facebook page, (ltl photos) or website or blog and take a look at previous groups I know they will vouch that having others on a like minded journey has been of great value to them, and they discover that stepping out of a ‘comfort zone’ into a new and exciting lifestyle full of energy is empowering. Plus the laughter, camaraderie and chat along the way has been invaluable to them amongst such a fantastic group/setting.

categories of diet
Eating a healthy diet is of key importance to your weight-loss but we are currently saturated with so much information many people have no idea where to start. There is a substantial market for products which promise to make weight loss easier, quicker, cheaper, more reliable, or less painful. These include books, DVDs, CDs, exercise contraptions, creams, lotions, pills, body wraps, food products and supplements. While some are classified as unhealthy and potentially harmful to general health, others are recommended by specialists. There are endless diet plans and recipes that can be helpful for weight loss, and equally unhelpful.
Head onto Amazon (or any other online book store) and search for ‘diet’ books. The list is endless. Amazon returned 72,748 results. If there is a diet out there, there is a book about it. We certainly don’t have a lack of reading material. But little of it is of value.
Doctor designed! Ultimate diet! Eat more food and lose kgs! Two steps! Boost metabolism! Rapid results! Blast fat! All of them have built in promises that make you think - yes, this one is IT! It’s the answer. We fall for them all but...

chlorella
(NaturalNews) With the quality of commercially-grown produce declining rapidly, obtaining nutritious fruits and vegetables is not an easy task. Few of us eat enough fruits and vegetables on a daily basis; it's a fact that grows more true with each generation. So how do we answer these issues, knowing the bounty of nutrients we're missing? One solution is chlorella, a green single-cell algae that packs a huge nutritious punch.Chlorella is an astounding package of complete nutrition, considering it is such a simple life form, which is probably why it is often referred to as nature's multivitamin. The synergistic nature of chlorella's nutrients is undeniable. All of its natural properties function together in a way individual supplements can't touch. Chlorella is famous for providing a vast array of benefits while fighting numerous diseases and conditions.

what you drink
Many reasons to make better decisions for our fluid intake...
Aspartame is famous for neurological symptoms, as it is composed of two neurotransmitters linked with a methyl group. Headaches and imbalance are the two most frequently self-reported problems, but seizures, brain tumors and sudden cardiac arrest are the most serious ones.
Always a choice. What will yours be?

the sugar conspiracy
Of all the foods consumed today, refined sugar is considered to be one of the most harmful
"If you have any doubts as to the detriments of sugar (sucrose), try leaving it out of your diet for several weeks and see if it makes a difference! You may also notice you have acquired an addiction and experience some withdrawal symptoms.
Studies show that “sugar” is just as habit-forming as any narcotic; and its use, misuse, and abuse is our nation’s number one disaster.
It is no wonder when we consider all the products we consume daily which are loaded with sugar! The average healthy digestive system can digest and eliminate from two to four teaspoons of sugar daily, usually without noticeable problems, (that is if damage is not already present).
One 375ml coke contains 11 teaspoons of sugar, and that’s aside from the caffeine. It’s the sugar that gives you quick energy, but only for a brief time due to the rise of the blood sugar level. But the body quickly releases a rush of insulin, which rapidly lowers the blood sugar and causes a significant drop in energy and endurance."

the effects of a good diet
One of the main chats I repeatedly have with people after good health, is about eliminating packaged foods and sugar from their diet. It falls on eager nods, yet unfortunately, deaf ears, but sometimes, some DO hear and follow what really is, such an easy concept, for our continual wellbeing. Those that start to eat for nutrition, and realise it is NOT hard work at all to fuel our bodies with the best they deserve, feel amazingly well, plus then are the ones that get fantastic results when they do so.Unlike refined sugars, fruit contains the necessary enzymes required for your body to break them down. There is a big difference to added sweeteners as opposed to fruits and vegetables that are inherently sweet. It's the over abundance of added refined sugar in processed foods that is so detrimental to our health.
With cancer having affected my entire life through the loss of family members, and circumstances lately requiring I find out more and more about cancer and the benefits the correct diet and exercise has, I find myself becoming more and more vocal about the connection between the foods we consume and the effects that food, plus exercise has on good health and the prevention (or cure), of cancer and other diseases.
A fantastic read via Hardcore Nutrition for the Prevention of Cancer ... Cancer Diet - The Gerson Therapy Diet.
Its amazing what food can do to our health.

top 10 sources of aspartame
Aspartame is considered the most dangerous food additive on the market today. Aspartames main compounds are Aspartic Acid, Phenylalanine, and Methanol. These combine to kill neurons in the brain, poison the body and are linked to an enormous amounts of health effects. In any other scenario this substance would be considered poison and recommendation for non ingestion would be made on the bottle. But because this poisonous substance has been approved by food and drug associations, its legal. And we all know why. (EUGENICS)If you have been drinking diet soda and chewing gum, chances are you have been enjoying aspartame in generous quantities. Aspartame is a popular sugar substitute that can be found in diet soda drinks, chewing gum, fruit spreads and sugar-free products to name a few. It is also known by the brand names, Sweet One, NutraSweet and Spoonful.
Can aspartame be addictive?
Yes, according to Dr. Betty Martini, popular anti-aspartame advocate. She explains that it is an "addictive, exitoneurotic, carcinogenic, genetically engineered drug and adjuvant that damages the mitochondria."

which choice?

is it REALLY a hard decision to make that healthy choice ?! wouldnt you feel better with the option on the left? (which is actually even LESS kilojoules than the chocolate bar)
i doubt anyone could even eat it all in one sitting! "snickers" the one that 'really satisfies' ... like any chocolate bar - gone in a couple of mouthfuls ... on its journey straight to your love handles ! :)
health. nutrition. satiation. choose. wisely.

how much water?
Water is an essential requirement to us - our bodies are 70% water and we need to drink plenty of it to be healthy, to lose weight and to stay hydrated ... but exactly how much? Needs vary by individual. When you feel hungry it may often be you are simply thirsty. Your body needs plain old water - not softdrink, not coffee, not high calorie juices as many hunger pangs are thirst pangs. A glass of water can help stop those hunger cravings.
So how much water?

magic pills and supplements
It becomes pretty scary when, as a nation, people rely and have 'hope', on the quick fix for weight loss. Unfortunately, there are so many pills and potions around that promise empty and such unbelievable results that many may wonder why people fall for their false claims. It frightens me, that people actually consume these products - knowing - that they can actually endanger our health - our organs. I too, often wonder why people would put their bodies under such an unnatural stress.
But yes, I DO understand desiring fast weight loss. I certainly understand, 'hope'. Unfortunately, nothing beats the age old formula of great nutrition teamed up with exercise.
So. A topic that makes really makes me see red I guess .... with so many false and unfounded claims made by the profiteers of these businesses selling supplements, targeting a population that is vulnerable to believing such assertions. You can sell anything to anyone, if their self esteem is low enough!
Dangerous side effects - and fine print, that reads - alongside a calorie controlled diet and regular exercise. Guess what? That's the earlier formula - you WILL lose weight, if you do both those things ... without the synthetic additions to your body.
Still. It's surprising how weight loss 'magic' profits in the millions year after year - doesn't ANYONE ever question, with all this 'promise' around, then why do we even have anyone overweight? If all the claims made, were truths, and really WERE successful, wouldnt we have a healthy, trim looking nation?
Your body, is more sensitive than a machine. Treat it with the RESPECT it deserves. And work towards great health. For the long term.
choice magazine article - well worth the read, many products in the marketplace are not even approved!! In 2008, there were about 100 times more listed weight-loss products than registered products – now there are probably more.

twenty dollar buys
One of the most common debates I have with people is about it being too expensive to eat healthy, compared to eating a packaged food diet. Unfortunately many DO make food decisions based on price. It’s funny how most of those people though, have no challenge finding the extra dollars for alcohol. Or soft drink, ice cream and takeaway! So is it actually more expensive to eat healthy?
The question is relative of course and the answer will vary greatly depending on who you ask. There are definitely some things we can all cut back on as consumers in order to be able to spend a little more on the food that nourishes our bodies. Step one? Easy example. Eliminate soft drink!
This week I set about finding out exactly what $20 buys here in the Whitsundays in the way of fresh produce.

fat, sick and...
Today I invested in the dvd, Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead. What a great viewing! Serious, but with many humerous animated additions, making it not tedious to watch.
I love my juice every day for breakfast, however I'm not so sure I could only 'drink' ALL my nutritional needs. Therefore, while I don't advocate you need to necessarily juice or fast like this guy has (don't forget, it IS still television, it is meant to create interest) - it certainly points out brilliantly the value of nutritional food in our diet to ward off illnesses and disease.
Congratulations to Joe Cross for sharing his journey and making an inspiring documentary... what fabulous transformations. The truck driver has certainly GOT to encourage people to sit up, take note and start making changes in their lives! He sure inspired me.
It's probably available in many stores. I got it in Woolworths for twenty bucks!! The best twenty dollars spent in a long while, worth every cent. Whether overweight or not, grab it. And watch. And see why its worth working towards YOUR personal wellness! Great health. With great nutrition. That's something ALL of us need!
