jaime hughes

Over the past 12 months I have been incredibly fortunate to have witnessed many exciting transformations. SO many people have achieved positive health goals and the journey of Jaime, below, is no exception. Delighted with the way her story has unfolded - here, is Jaime.

After seeing photos of myself from a night out with friends I realised I had really let myself go and needed to do something about it.
Being very active at school playing in football comps to years of a mining lifestyle and using the excuse “I work to many hours a day to come home and exercise” the weight slowly started piling on.

I joined Fitness Venue in November last year, going along to a few classes. Realising I needed motivation a friend suggested to get a trainer. Since then I’ve been in a solid routine with a great, motivating trainer. (thanks Ann!)
At times it can be difficult, alternating day and night shifts at work. When out at camp I utilise the gym a few nights or mornings where I can. When I’m home for five days I train every day, alternating weights, cardio sessions and joining in classes with other lovely ladies at Fitness Venue.
After a year of hard work I’m amazed at how much better I feel about myself looking in the mirror, noticing how different I feel in clothing.
Being fitter has also helped at work - being strong and capable for emergency response. Sleeping patterns have improved - I sleep more soundly and snoring has stopped. Other benefits have been having my partner, friends and family all complimenting me about how great I look.
I still have a bit more weight to lose to hit my goal and tone up but I feel better and happier exercising regularly and will continue to do so. Anyone can exercise and feel fantastic. You have to want to and believe you can. Get a support team around yourself. Prioritise, focus and remain consistent. Once you start you’ll wonder why you never started sooner. A great trainer makes all the difference.

Exemplary Jaime. You really are looking fantastic and have become an inspiration for others! A beautiful physical renewal, but more importantly, a wonderful attitude towards yourself and your health. It’s been a privilege watching you transform. And you’re proof that even while working out at the mines with erratic and difficult hours, with planning we can still lead and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Keep that great spirit as you continue your journey. I’m looking forward to seeing even further changes over the next few months.

For those who have put off working towards positive health changes in their life over the past year, grab hold of Jaime’s spark, don’t wait till January, it’s just another day, start - NOW. :) You can achieve amazing results over the next twelve months too!
