I have done re-measurements and fitness tests these past couple of weeks on most of you, gym and home clients. Great results everyone, congratulations and a huge thanks for the effort you put in week after week. I continue to be inspired by you all, the tenacity that you bring not only to our sessions, but to all your training - in the gym, other classes, or outside running/walking too. Hopefully I am doing something right that helps to motivate and keep you working towards your goals. :D Incredibly proud of you all and your sticktuitiveness. THAT, is what gets results with our health and fitness. Consistency.
Remember, it's often difficult to look at the big picture when we are at the beginning of any goal we set, but it only takes one day at a time to make a difference in the weeks and months ahead of us. Train hard. Eat clean. Stay focused. Repeat. That simple to create good health.
We are coming up to the final week of the Lighten the Load group. 12 weeks flies doesn't it?! With 14 starters, we are completing it with 14 finishers - that's super awesome!
I have enjoyed immensely the opportunity to work alongside amazing people who have achieved - big and small steps - week after week. Am super proud of everyone staying consistent AND persistent! For you guys, measurements and photos are coming up this week for you all :) how. exciting. yes!
Wonderful for a few to be staying on for another 10 weeks (the final session the week ending with Wednesday 18th December) We advance on all you've learned and up the ante training wise! (heavens can anything be tougher than this past week of training? ;) haha - you betcha! (for those interested a few photos from along the way here )
We now open up also to a second group of new participants if we get the numbers - so far I have 4 interested so let's see if we can get the extra 4 needed to be able to start another fresh group on a great journey where they discover how fabulous it is to incorporate exercise into their lives and change negative habits for more positive ones along the way.
I would love for the second one to be as successful as the first group. The current group will become the inspiration and role models, for the newcomers - does that sound scary? ;) Don't let it be, you guys now have stories to tell! And you all know, especially by this mornings session, how far you have all come, especially from a fitness point of view.
Below is the information sent out to those enquiring, if you know anyone who you may feel will be interested please pass it on.
The info:
Participants MUST have a minimum of 20kilos to lose. The reason behind this is the support of others on a similar goal/journey – and specially for those who would normally feel intimidated or uncomfortable to enter a gym.
We know how fabulous you feel once you do it so hopefully this also makes others realise that it’s a wonderful place to be. While the movement side of it is done in the group fitness area, the actual discussion side is done in a separate room so there is no one else around except for those within the group.
I think the current group will vouch that having others on a like minded goal has been of great value to them, and the laughter, camaraderie and chat along the way has been invaluable amongst such a fantastic group/setting.
The 12 week program will consist of two group sessions each week and one personal training session. Plus ‘homework’ to do each day. Ongoing regular support each week both from myself and others in the group plus the previous group. Interchange of email, texts etc.
Starting on the 12th October it will run with the final session on Wednesday 18 December. With christmas it makes 10 weeks not 12! :) Everyone says I can’t count ;) But while fitness never takes a break - we will take a short one to allow holiday makers time with their families etc and continue on mid January.
Session 01: Saturday morning 7.45 to 9.30am - a 30/45 minute training session - circuit style combining strength based and cardio based activities. Followed by a new topic chat each week and discussion, planning for the week ahead, food, exercise, etc, and chatting about how the week has been - includes time for questions and answers. A weigh and measure - weighing every week, measure every four weeks.
Session 02: Wednesday morning 6 to 7am - A mid week catchup - questions, answers, thoughts, good and bad moments shared etc followed by a 30/45 minute training session - cardiobox and cardio based activities.
Weekly PT session - One on one personal training times are made individually at times most suitable to the person. All are encouraged to warm up prior to the start of their session for 5-10 minutes. Session is 30 minutes long. Stretch - 5 minutes. Emphasis will be on strength training.
Everyone participating will also be supplied with some ‘homework’ to incorporate movement into every day.
Let others know they don't have to be a member of the gym to participate, the current group is about half and half. Training homework is given for gym goers and, those who do their training outside of the gym are given a different set of exercises to do at home.
So please help spread the information around if you are able. Certainly appreciated. There's nothing more exciting than someone taking their first step through the gym doors, and then discovering a whole new way to live :) then also discovering - they LOVE it! And we are fortunate that we get to share their experiences and get involved in the newness of their journey.
Warriors on a Saturday will continue as always - it's nice to head into the lighter mornings and we no longer stumble around in the dark :) 6am (shall we make it quart to 6 now that its lighter and be not so rushed at the end? welcome feedback on that from those that partake)
Sunday Brekky this coming Sunday 13th October. 7am start for an hour workout followed by – food.. at the Proserpine Fitness Venue - $20 for the workout and brekky.
It's great to get the opportunity to have a workout together as a small group and sit afterwards in a more relaxed manner compared to our working weeks, eat breakfast and catch up. We do have some grand conversations, and, a great time. If you could let me know by early Saturday (12th) if you are able/wanting to come so I can organise the breakfast side of it, that would be fantastic (txt 0412 753 899 or by return email)
That's it for this month. Remember you are always welcome to email, text or throw a comment onto facebook if there is anything you need help with or want to get feedback on.
Cheers to us all having an supercharged October! May it slow down – just a little bit. :D
Stay smiling, stay healthy, Ann
