real benefits

fit·ness / ’fitnis
The state or condition of being physically sound and healthy, especially as the result of exercise and proper nutrition.
A state of general mental and physical well-being.

I am amazed regularly that I am in a most wonderful position everyday of assisting people to create positive, life changing habits for themselves.  In turn however, the people I get to train also affect me in a most positive way. I am continually uplifted, inspired and motivated by the journey’s of many individuals and the life altering changes that people choose to create that transformation for themselves.
I absolutely love virtually every aspect of being a trainer. It’s incredibly rewarding. I get great satisfaction everyday training and conversing with interesting people who own powerful life stories.
To see someone’s life improve as they make and embrace positive changes is very satisfying. And not just because they’ve dropped a few kgs or look better in their clothes.

While fantastic to see, satisfaction is beyond witnessing a clients body shape transform. To me, the changes are those that are ‘not seen’. Having a client express that since training with me their back doesn’t hurt for the first time in years. Satisfaction is watching a client remove unnecessary medications from their lives as their blood pressure levels normalise, as illnesses are eliminated.
Satisfaction is getting to watch their confidence grow! Yes, beyond the weight loss, extreme satisfaction is watching them increase their energy levels, have less joint pain, sleep better, alleviate depressive cycles and improve their overall fitness levels. Those kinds of results are what are meaningful to me because they are meaningful to them.

Satisfaction is getting to study and learn continually about the amazement of the human body and it’s limitless possibilities.  With every single client there are a lot of factors to consider such as medical conditions/diseases, medications, injuries, age-related changes, exercise preferences, etc. I want to be forever learning and growing and love the challenge to get the best results for every individual.
Satisfaction is watching clients smiling, chatting, and having fun while they work out. Seeing their faces BEAM with pride after they accomplish something they never thought they were capable of.
Like a set of ten pushups on their toes. Or breaking the one minute mark in a plank. Hitting a new personal best. Or the knowledge that they said NO to that tim tam and felt empowered by their choice rather than deprived by it.

That discomfort you feel when you push yourself beyond your comfort zone, that ache you feel, is good. It means you aren’t finished yet. There’s always a goal to strive towards. Always greatness in you the world has yet to see. Physically and mentally. This is the nature of life, everything is always changing. And if we pay attention, we might, too.

With regular moderate to intense exercise and a focus on eating right you can have a high quality of life. All of us can reverse the trend of unhealthy eating and the associated illnesses that come with it.
Starting an exercise and healthy eating program can be a very daunting experience for many people. While some of us can spend hours each week working out others need to be dragged along while kicking and screaming. Yet the benefits are enormous! That first step is the hardest. Making that initial phone call, sending an email of enquiry, walking through the gym doors for the first time - huge steps. But once you’ve made that definitive decision for yourself to achieve an improved quality of life, to transform yourself, stay bold - you’ve already stepped outside your comfort zone, so stick with it! Imagine getting fitter, happier and healthier, gaining confidence, losing excessive fat and toning up. Stop imagining and start doing. Become unstoppable! Put down the tim tam and make that call or email me today to start your fitness journey. With hard work, a steadfast focus and consistent training anything is possible.

Over the next few weeks I hope to bring you many motivational stories of those who have taken that initial step and are now making changes to live ‘healthy in mind, body and soul’. The good, the bad and the ugly, as step by step they are embracing a new mindset.

Satisfaction? Satisfaction is knowing that I helped somebody today. Hopefully more than one person. Real people. With names. And real needs. Ann
